Conditions: N/A Updated: 03 / 15 By: Wolf Lake Motel and Resort | | Latest Snow: sunny and warm, I have been getting a nice tan -- Trail Report: Don't worry the snow will be back next year, so park your sled for the summer and get the ATV's out. Why not have some fun trail riding on our ATV. Most all of the snow and ice are gone now, but there is beautiful mud to play in. We have one of the largest ORV trail systems in the State, with over 200 miles of ORV trails, plus Steelhead are in the rivers right now, so bring a pole and plenty of fishing line. These fish are pound for pound the toughest fish swimming in Michigan. We still have a couple rooms and On- site ATV rentals weather permitting. Call 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm. Our Weekday Special for March, Sunday through Thursday is stay two days and get the third day free, No Fridays or Saturdays free. You must mention the specials at the time of the reservation and of course these specials are dependent on availability and can not be combined with any other offer. Plus we are in the middle of one of the largest ORV trail systems in the state, so if the snow isn't that great for snowmobiling, bring your ORV up and ride over 200 miles of ORV trails. PLEASE DON'T RIDE YOUR ORV ON THE GROOMED SNOWMOBILE TRAILS. There are plenty of open trails available for ORV riding. Don't worry winter isn't over for snowmobiling, but a winter ORV ride can be a blast too. If you don't have a snowmobile or yours is broken, no problem, WE HAVE ON-SITE SNOWMOBILE RENTALS right here at the Resort. There is good snow in the woods, so two tracken and seasonal roads are a blast right now. (Which there are tons of). 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm Rooms and ON-SITE Snowmobile Rentals are available. We are members of the Cycle Conservation Club of Michigan, Baldwin Trailriders Snowmobile Club, Benzie/Manistee Snowbirds Snowmobile Club, Irons Area Tourist Association Snowmobile Club, Wellston Area Recreation and Tourist Bureau Snowmobile Club, Lake County ORV Club and the Michigan Snowmobile Association, which are the local grooming clubs. I can not thank these guys and gals enough, they do a lot of work for free, so we all can enjoy this sport. I would only think that if someone is complaining about a bumpy trail on Saturday afternoon, come to a couple club meetings and see just what these people do. They would never complain again. Thank you again. Check out the WOLFCAM for the snow totals. Visit our ATV & SNOW REPORT Here is a list of the snowmobile trails in this area, are you ready? The Baldwin trails go south from here for 146 miles to Newago, Irons trails wrap around Wolf Lake and then heads north for 122 miles and connects to Cadillac and Wellston trails, Cadillac trails connect into the Irons and Wellston trails all the way to Cadillac, then south to Leroy, they groom 124 miles. Wellston trails connect to Cadillac to the east, Benzie/Manistee trails and Irons trails to the north and west to Stronach for 68 miles, Pere Marquette trail connects to The Baldwin trail and all the way to Evart and up to Leroy to the Cadillac trail system for 144 miles, the south Pere Marquette trail runs to Grand Rapids I think about 140 miles. The Benzie/Manistee trails run north of the Wellston trail all the way to the Empire Airport on the Bear lake and Platte river trails another 150 miles I think. Let's total this up, 146 + 122 + 124 + 68 + 144 + 140 + 150 = 894 in groomed connecting trails just in this area alone and we are right in the middle of them. I don't know about you but that's a ton of riding. Now there is more trails to get to, but that would be just over kill and this is not even counting all of the two tracks and seasonal roads that you can ride. Why spent an extra $200 to $300 in fuel to get to Gaylord or the UP when we have fantastic riding right here and spend that money on snowmobile fuel. We have two bedroom lake front rooms with full kitchens, living rooms with a sofa sleeper, (sleeps 6), double lake front rooms with a queen and full beds and a kitchenette (sleeps 4). Double motel rooms with two double beds and a mini fridge, (sleeps 4) and single motel rooms with one full bed, (sleeps 2) and a large Bunk House which has two bed rooms with queen bunk beds and a queen sofa sleeper, (sleeps Ten), full kitchen, full living room, a bar and a fireplace. We have something for everyone. Call 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm. See ya soon on the trails. --- Complete Report --- More Report Links |

Conditions: Poor Updated: 03 / 02 By: Cadillac Trails | | Trail Report: FROM THE CADILLAC WINTER PROMOTIONS Tuesday--March 2, 2010 The latest word from our Trail Coordinator: "The warm temps. and sun are taking their tolls on the trails. The snow is melting FAST. The trails in and out of the towns and the RR trails are almost non-ridable. If you were to trailer out to the parking lots, you will find the wide forest and county seasonal roads still have some good snow cover, but they are getting very thin in the corners. The tight-twisty trails in the wooded areas are very brown, and less snow covered every day. There is still a lot of great riding, you just to have to go looking for it. Due to the current conditions, and the forecast of warmer temps to come, Winter Promotions have parked our groomers again. When we get that March snow storm that we get every year, DON'T hesitate, call in sick and jump on your sled. The snow from these March storms generally only lasts for a day or 2!!" --- Complete Report |

Conditions: N/A Updated: 03 / 03 By: White Pine Trail Report | | Latest Snow: None -- Trail Report: Warm temps and sunshine has ended riding here on the White Pine. Thanks to Pere Marquette Snowmobile Club for their grooming again this year! I would also like to thank the Moderator for providing these web pages, and supporting the activity that is our passion. The White Pine trail is the former Railroad track stretching from Rockford to Cadillac. Not a challenging trail, but great for families with many towns to visit along the way. --- Complete Report --- More Report Links |
